Common Agenda began operations in 1997 when Matthew Reaves, the company’s founder, focused on providing specialized recruiting services to technology start-ups in the dot com era. The early success indicated an incredible demand at the mid-to-upper career level - $100k to $500k base salary range. Serving the tech industry through market ups and downs, Common Agenda developed fee-based recruiting practices in several niches of the industry that built the internet and enabled the modern-day “cloud” including: Optical Networking, Mobility, Enterprise Services, Collaboration, Network Virtualization, Security, and more.
“Our success and longevity is due to the incredible people who I count as trusted partners in this unique career which demands of each of us a mix of Art and Science. It doesn’t hurt having advanced databases and repeatable practices either,” says Reaves.
In 2002, Matthew’s longtime recruiting coworker, Darlene Corrubia, joined as Practice Leader. “Darlene’s following is legendary! Few recruiters ever achieve her level of performance for her clients.” In 2008, the firm added Bill Rowe as Research and Operations Manager who is behind nearly every search the firm undertakes. The company’s contact and technical knowledge base has mushroomed through constantly researching the niches we serve and keeping in touch with established and up-and-coming leaders. “The excellence of our people reflects Common Agenda’s commitment to delivering value to our clients. We have never been a big firm but we’re proud that we’ve placed nearly 1,000 people with our clients since we began,” says founder Reaves.
