Melbourne based Rohan Carr, Director of IRC Australia (The Insight Group), has been appointed the new President of the Executive Board of IRC Global Executive SearchPartners. Rohan takes over Patrick Westerburger (IRC Netherlands), member of the Board since 2011 and President of the Board since 2014. Michael Kantel from IRC Germany also joins the Board.
Formed in 1993, IRC is a leading global alliance of owner-operated executive search firms. During the past 3 years and under Patrick’s leadership IRC has grown to become the world’s largest alliance in terms of the geographical coverage. Operating from 82 globally connected offices on six continents, IRC provides clients with a deep industry expertise and an exceptional local market knowledge combined with personal dedication.
These values make IRC consultants unique partners. IRC measures the quality of the performance and satisfaction of clients and candidates. These metrics have been used to continuously improve IRC services across all 46 countries. In 2016, IRC launched the IRC Institute, a global thought leadership community providing new insights and handson solutions for global leaders.
Patrick Westerburger comments: “Rohan is the right leader to take IRC to the next level. He understands the challenges that our clients are facing both in traditional and emerging markets. Rohan has been on the IRC Executive Board for three years and thanks to his significant contributions IRC became one of the most agile executive search organizations in the world. Under his Presidency our clients will benefit from his expertise in every corner of the world."
With more than twenty years in the executive search industry, Rohan Carr had an earlier career in the chartered accounting, corporate advisory and stockbroking industries. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and an MBA from Monash University. He also has a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Financial Services Institute of Australasia. Rohan completed his Doctorate in Business Administration at RMIT University in 2005.
Rohan commenced his executive search career at IRC Australia (The Insight Group) as an Associate before joining the international executive search firm Heidrick & Struggles where he spent three years as a Consultant. In 2002, Rohan returned to IRC Australia as a Director, where he now consults to a range of private and public organizations across a variety of industry sectors including financial services, manufacturing, not for profit, professional services and education (which is his major practice area). Rohan has been a member of the Board of IRC Global Executive Search Partners since 2014 and also heads the Education Practice globally.
Rohan comments on his new role: “I am honored and excited to take over the reins of an organization which is so strong and vibrant. I look forward to working with all our members to build on Patrick’s legacy.” Michael Kantel, Managing Partner IRC Germany, newly joins the IRC Executive Board.
Michael, who is also the IRC Industrial/Production Global Practice Leader, joined IRC in 2006. Since that time, he has actively contributed to the development of the alliance. His main role within the Board should be to support the business development activities of IRC member firms. All changes have been announced at the IRC Global Conference 2017 which took place in Shanghai, China, October 11-13, 2017.
