IRC Global Executive Search Partners recently held their annual global conference in Shanghai, China. The theme of the event, Innovation & Agility, challenged delegates from 40+ countries and 6 continents to look beyond the current business paradigm and explore opportunities to take a new and genuinely global approach.

Choosing China and Shanghai to host the IRC Global Conference was a natural decision for IRC partners. The speed of innovation within the country is enormous. Understanding one of the world’s biggest markets is key to comprehending future needs of clients not only within the APAC region but also globally.

Apart from internal strategic workshops and best practice sharing sessions, the external keynote speakers provided a unique picture of the China economy which is investing like never before in innovative technologies, process and educational initiatives across all industry sectors.

Shaun Rein, the international keynote speaker and Founding Partner at China Market Research Group (CMR), provided participants with an outstanding macroeconomic view on the dramatic shift in the China market from a copycat to an innovative economy.

Juergen Ries, the Managing Partner at ASYS Group China, demonstrated the level of change in China and detailed the rapid changes in technology across industries. The Chinese government's program "Made in China 2025” is clearly more than just a technologic development plan. It is restructuring the entire economy and making it more competitive using advancements in production technologies as just one of the instruments.

Rohan Carr, the President of IRC Executive Board comments: “China is such an exciting destination. Our 2017 conference not only gave us an opportunity to learn more about the country but to develop stronger relationships across the IRC network. All of which is focused on better meeting our clients’ needs in every corner of the world.”
