Raj Tulsiani - CEO of Green Park, the executive diversity recruitment specialists, has been named ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ at the prestigious MSDUK 2018 Awards. MSDUK is the UK’s leading non-profit membership organisation driving inclusive procurement.
MSDUK’s panel of three esteemed judges selected Raj as the award winner from a distinguished shortlist. The announcement was made at the MSDUK 2018 Conference & Awards Dinner on Wednesday 26th September.
The ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ award focuses specifically on the contribution dynamic and visionary leaders have made in business. The award category was open to MSDUK certified ethnic minority business owners and looked at leaders that could demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit, innovation and sustained business growth.
The judges recognised Raj’s sustained track record of entrepreneurism and innovation, as the first individual to establish three £10 million-plus executive interim management-based firms. Under Raj’s leadership, Green Park has grown from a challenger brand to a serious contender in the executive recruitment market, with a record year in turnover of over £65 million. Raj is also a recognised diversity champion, advocating for greater accountability and changing the expectations of the recruitment industry, in terms of responsible and sustainable resourcing.
While Raj has displayed considerable private sector entrepreneurial acumen he also acts as a consultant to the public sector, acting as a special advisor and contributor to landmark Government-backed diversity reviews lobbying for real and valuable change. These include the Parker Review and Hampton-Alexander Review which call for greater female and Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) representation at Board level.
Last year Raj led a consortium to buy Mongoose Inclusive Cricket, which promotes sport as a tool to increase social mobility working, with grass roots community projects to prevent gang violence and radicalisation.
Raj Tulsiani, Chief Executive Officer of Green Park, commented on his win: “It is extremely humbling and touching to have received this award. I hope I can inspire others, especially those from diverse backgrounds, to start those own enterprises and challenge conventional business models. We need to foster an entrepreneurial spirit throughout society developing the next generation of business leaders.”
