Turnkey Search, a subsidiary of Turnkey Sports & Entertainment, announced today the addition of long-time media executive Rick Alessandri to the talent recruitment/executive search firm. Alessandri joins Turnkey as Managing Director and General Manager of Turnkey’s growing media practice and will oversee talent recruitment/executive search for media, digital and tech companies, as well as for non media entities including leagues, teams, venues, events and tours looking to build their in-house content creation and production capabilities.
Alessandri spent 35 years at Disney/ ESPN, Dow Jones, SportsTicker and, most recently, as Univision’s Executive Vice President tapping into Hispanic America.
“At Disney/ESPN and again at Univision, innovation was always Rick’s focus and priority to create growth and obtain goals. He hired hundreds of positions and built winning teams to follow through with that mission,” said Len Perna, CEO, Turnkey. “Content and media have seen a paradigm shift – not only at traditional media, new media and OTT companies, but also now leagues, teams, venues, events who need in-house media skills. During his 20-year tenure at Disney/ESPN, Alessandri served as Chief of Staff and right hand to ESPN President George Bodenheimer, Senior Vice President of ESPN Enterprises and also CXO of the X Games. All these roles had a common thread: stitching together a seamless, integrated media and non media experience which was immersive, engaging, consistent and monetizable.

Since 2011 Alessandri served as Executive Vice President, Enterprise Development at Univision Communications Inc., (UCI) the leading media company serving Hispanic America. Alessandri’s team at UCI was responsible for all new business development, licensing, direct to consumer businesses and the launch of UCI Live - Univision’s live events business. All of these startup initiatives required hiring and managing business teams that could connect, leverage and monetize media and non media assets together. Alessandri will now assist Turnkey clients in doing the same thing.
